PSA Visit and Flexi-time Changes
PSA representatives visited Births, Deaths and Marriages, Chippendale, on 26 April 2017, to update members on the progression of the Department of Justice’s proposed Flexible Working Hours Agreement. A summary of changes is provided below:
- 12 week settlement period
- Carry Over of 42 hours in balance
- Carry Over of 14 hours in debit
- Maximum 6 Flex days per settlement period (12 weeks)
- Ability to take consecutive Flex days
- Quarter day Flex
- Employees may choose the form of paid leave to cover a shortfall
- 2.5 hours lunchbreak
- Defined emergency response and recovery operations
- Easter flex leave arrangements as provided in the Award – ½ day flex
- Bandwidth – 6.30am – 9pm
- Core time – 10am – 3pm
- Non-standard hours can only be entered into by way of written agreement between the employee and manager
- Local arrangements will continue to be observed
- Reports will be provided to the Justice Peak JCC on working time and use of flex time
- Gender, carers’ responsibility and WHS impact assessment to be conducted prior to implementation – terms of reference to be proposed by the PSA
- Transitional arrangements will be in place, to prevent employees from forfeiting hours.
As the agreement is still in negotiation, an implementation date has not been set. Members will be updated with any new developments.
Re-establishment of Joint Consultative Committee
The PSA will be contacting BDM management to re-establish quarterly meetings to provide a forum for workplace issues to be raised on behalf of our membership.
