NSW Police – Radio Operations Group – Announcement of Communications Advisory Group delegates and call for local relief delegates
The Communications Advisory Group was created earlier this year to formalise the mechanism by which delegates were chosen to attend the Joint Communications Consultative Committee (JCCC) every quarter with the Management of Radio Operations Group (ROG).
Following a call for nominations, the makeup of delegates on the Communications Advisory Group has now been finalised as follows:
Sydney: – Glenn Duncan, Paul Cupitt
Penrith: – John Hughes
Tamworth: – Sharon Watkins
Newcastle: – Marianne Turner
Oak Flats: – Karen Stephen
The Communications Advisory Group meets every three months with PSA industrial staff to discuss and progress issues raised by members. This group then sends five of its members to attend the JCCC with Management, which takes place directly afterwards.
On behalf of members, the PSA would like to congratulate the above delegates on their successful appointment to these roles; as well as thanking past delegates for the time, effort, and dedication they put into the roles previously.
In addition to the Advisory Group delegates, the PSA needs a local delegate on each relief at each centre to ensure effective representation and communication, as well as organising and recruiting on their relief, and making representations to local management.
This critical role ensures an effective and responsive union presence at all times across ROG. Interested members are strongly encouraged to get more involved in their union by taking up this role.
