State Library update

State Library update – July 2016 (PDF version)

As members would be aware, management recently decided to outsource four positions in the Security Section of the Library.

Their roles will now be delivered by the security firm Wilsons.

The PSA advised management that in our view this was simply an effort to undermine the hard-fought conditions negotiated and won over many years.

In light of this second restructure in just a few months, we asked management the question, “Who’s next?”

We didn’t get an answer, but we have three more years of a Government bent on cutting the public service.

We therefore anticipate that there will be another restructure.

We need to say “No!” as a collective.

As soon as there is another such move the PSA will call a meeting and we need ALL members to have a say. ALL members need to protest.

In the meantime, keep your delegates informed of your concerns.

Let’s be ready to make a stand.

Your delegates are:

Trish Leen

Shauna Miller

Stephanie Volkens

Kathleen Miller
