Wouldn’t this be nice?Queensland Government demands support for unions from public sector bosses

An article in Brisbane’s Courier Mail today reports that the Palaszczuk Government’s Department of Premier and Cabinet have issued a “Union Encouragement Policy” which directs public sector departments to actively encourage union membership.

The policy states in part that “Passive acceptance by agencies of membership recruitment activity by unions does not satisfy the government’s commitment. Encouragement requires agencies to take a positive, supportive role.”
