Shared Service Centre Parramatta bulletin update – November 2015 (PDF version)
On 29 October 2015, the PSA held a meeting with members to discuss the Flexible Working Hours Agreement (FWHA). Members were provided with the amended FWHA, which is due to be implemented on 14 December 2015.
At the meeting, PSA delegate Ross Amor updated members on the current status of the agreement and its impact on staff. He also advised members of his role as their delegate in the ongoing discussions with the Department. He stressed the importance of raising concerns with him, so they can be effectively communicated to the PSA and the Department.
Some key areas of discussion were:
- The extension of the current arrangements
- Transitional arrangements for settlement period up until 4 March 2016
- The new agreement will allow for employees to carry forward a maximum of 42 hours from one settlement to the next.
Members at the meeting also discussed the importance of PSA membership and their intent to encourage non-members to join. Forming an active workplace group would provide a forum for collaborative discussion, an environment to raise concerns or issues, and an opportunity for proactive involvement at the negotiation table with management.
