What is proposed?

Members will be aware the Department has recently notified staff in the Directorate that there is organisational change across the whole Directorate. The Department advised the PSA that:

  • there are proposed new Organisational Charts and Role Descriptions for all positions
  • there will be more ongoing positions in the restructure
  • they will comply with the Public Service Commission Directive 2011-2014, Agency Change Management Guidelines.

Consultation with PSA

The Department first met the PSA on Monday 6 June 2016 to formally began consultation in this restructure. The Department indicated it is willing to meet as the restructure proceeds and welcome questions during this period.

Staff consultation

The Department will be conducting a roadshow in the next two weeks covering offices across the Directorate. Members are encouraged to attend the meetings and ask questions and provide feedback directly to management.

The Department advised staff have been notified that there are documents including Organisational Charts, Role Descriptions and Frequently Asked Questions available on the internal intranet system. We encourage members to go through these documents.

What can you do?

The Department indicated it welcomes staff feedback on the proposal. We also ask that members send feedback to us to enable the PSA to raise these issues with the Department. Please contact the contact officers below.

What will the PSA do?

The PSA will ensure a fair and equitable process in the restructure will be adhered to.

The PSA will formally respond to the proposal based on the feedback that we receive from members. The deadline to respond to the Department is 21 June 2016; therefore we request that members send their feedback information as soon as possible to enable this to occur.

The PSA is unable to directly advocate for any non-members.
