What is proposed?

Members will be aware the Department has recently notified staff that there is organisational change across the whole Directorate. The Department advised the PSA:

  • there are proposed new Organisational Charts and Role Descriptions for all positions
  • there will be one less FTE position in the restructure
  • the three Grade 1/2 positions are proposed to be deleted and not replaced by other Grade 1/2 positions
  • one Grade 3/4 & one Grade 5/6 will be lost
  • they will comply with the Public Service Commission Directive 2011-2014, Agency Change Management Guidelines.

Consultation with the PSA

The Department and the PSA first met on Wednesday, 8 June 2016 to formally begin consultation in this restructure. The Department indicated it is willing to meet again as the restructure proceeds and welcome questions during this period.

Staff consultation

Following our meeting, the Department advised the PSA it would be holding meetings with staff.

The Department advised staff have been notified that there are documents including the Consultation paper, Organisational Charts, Role Descriptions and Frequently Asked Questions available on the internal intranet system. We encourage members to go through these documents and ask questions of their manager or HR.

What can you do?

The Department indicated it welcomes staff feedback on the proposal. We also ask members send feedback to us to enable the PSA to raise these issues with the Department. Please contact the Industrial Advocate below.

What will the PSA do?

The PSA will ensure that a fair and equitable process in the restructure will be adhered to.

The PSA will formally respond to the proposal based on the feedback that we receive from members. We request that this feedback be provided to the PSA by 21 June 2016 as the deadline to respond to the Department is 22 June 2016.
