Bulletin – Chatswood Police Station – February 2018 (PDF version)

A recent visit by the PSA to Chatswood Police Station has identified Work Health Safety concerns about the front counter configuration.

The PSA is particularly concerned about staff members being required to sit at work stations where they are seated with their backs to the entrance and front counter when there is no barrier between staff and the public.

The PSA believes this presents an immediate risk to staff and hereby directs members NOT to sit at any work station that leaves them in a position where they are seated with their backs to the entrance and front counter.

Members are advised:

  • this action has been approved by the General Secretary of the Public Service Association
  • any direction to perform work covered by this ban can and should be refused
  • if members are approached to complete work covered by the ban, they should decline and refer their manager to this document.

Only union members are protected when following bans. Speak to your colleagues about joining the union today to make sure they are protected.
