Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions EAGP restructure – March 2018 (PDF version)

As members are aware, the ODPP and the PSA are currently in consultation over the proposed new work place structure pursuant to the NSW Government’s Early Appropriate Guilty Plea Reforms.

The ODPP began providing information to staff last month. However, many questions have still been left unanswered. We continue to receive feedback from members via our survey. If you have not completed our survey, it can be found HERE.

The overarching concern from feedback received so far has been the lack of any meaningful detail in relation the structure itself. Issues with how recruitment and transfers will occur are also major issues for members.

Many of the questions raised by members should be answered by a change management plan which the ODPP must provide to the PSA. The PSA wrote to the ODPP on 20 February (correspondence can be found HERE and HERE) requesting a copy of the change management plan, and followed up the request more than once. To date, the change management plan has not been received. As such, on 21 March 2018, the PSA has lodged a dispute in the NSW Industrial Relations Commission. The dispute details member concerns, requests the change management plan and highlights the absence of proper consultation. Members will be kept informed of all developments.

PSA meetings and visits – ODPP PSA member involvement in your union

Your union will continue to visit ODPP offices to gather feedback during the change process.

As a member-driven union it is important that members in the workplace actively get involved. We encourage members working in all roles including – Administration, Legal and Policy to get involved. If would like more information on what being a delegate or contact will entail, please contact Bart McKenzie – .
