Pay Rise Confirmed – 2.5 per cent each year for the next two years

The new Service NSW Award has been approved by the NSW Industrial Relations Commission

You will receive the first instalment of this pay rise in the first full pay period after 1 July.

Your new Award can be viewed HERE.

Hard copies will be made available to all Service NSW workplaces.

Employees not covered by the Service NSW (Salaries and Conditions) Employees Award 2018, such as trainees and skill hire staff, will not receive this pay rise. There are legal barriers to the PSA enforcing a range of industrial entitlements and conditions for these workers.

We are concerned about this unfairness and where possible always seek to have staff directly employed by Service NSW.

The PSA welcomes members who are skill hire or contract staff or who are employed as trainees.

Change the Rules

The PSA is part of the Change the Rules campaign. At its core is the right to secure employment and enforceable rights and fair pay rises.

More information can be found HERE.

Start up and close down times

A survey of PSA members revealed that most of our members currently undertake unpaid work on a regular basis, particularly around start up.

This issue was raised at the most recent meeting of the Service NSW Joint Consultative Committee.

Service NSW management stated that some staff at every location are rostered on to start 15 minutes prior to centre opening. As a consequence of this, there is no expectation that those staff not rostered on for the start-up need to start logging on prior to their rostered start time.

The PSA has committed to provide specific details regarding sites and times where this may not be occurring.

Please contact your union if you are experiencing any difficulties with this issue in your workplace.

Cost of Living Service

Service NSW has announced the roll out of this program starting with  Service Centres located at  Lismore, Wynyard, Taree, Wetherill Park and Parramatta and though Contact Centres.

An Expression of Interest for Support Services Specialists positions, to provide this service, has been put out.

The PSA is keen to hear from members about the role description, training provision and location of these positions and this service.

Get involved – have your say

The PSA has a specialist training unit that delivers a wide range of courses to assist members exercise their industrial rights and organise in the workplace.

A full list of courses and schedule can be found HERE.

Most members can access paid Trade Union Training Leave to participate in these courses.
