Concerned about COVID? You can get tested at a local clinic

COVID Test - Sept 2020 (PDF version)

The PSA has been approached by many members who feel the need to get a test for COVID-19, even though they have not been officially declared as close contacts or directed to get a test by NSW Health. Members should be aware that there are currently a large number of COVID Clinics, many of which do not require a GP referral. A list of clinics, including both clinics which require a referral and those which do not is available on this web page from the Department of Health: www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/covid-19/Pages/clinics.aspx

Members who do not have any symptoms, but who feel they may have been exposed to risk of infection, can voluntarily attend the clinics which do not require a referral. Generally, a person taking a test at a clinic will be directed to self-isolate until the test result comes back. Members complying with a direction to self-isolate from NSW Health, who have not been declared unfit for duty by a medical practitioner, are eligible for Pandemic Special Leave.

Members who have symptoms should definitely get tested and consult their medical practitioner if unsure.
