What is happening with Transport for NSW Awards and your wage increase?

As we previously advised the PSA and combined unions came to an in principle agreement with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) on the following Awards:

  • Roads and Maritime Services School Crossings Supervisors Award 2019
  • Transport for New South Wales and Sydney Metro Salaries and Conditions of Employment Award 2019
  • Roads and Maritime Services Consolidated Salaried Award 2019.

You can view a previous bulletin HERE.

We know many of you would have been expecting the pay increase in this pay period. Whilst the wage rise of 2.5 per cent (2.04 per cent salary, 0.5 per cent superannuation) is effective from the first full pay period from 1 July, it will only come into force once the Awards are approved by the Industrial Relations Commission (IRC). Unfortunately, the Awards are yet to be approved by the IRC.

Rest assured this does not mean you will not get the monetary value of the pay rise from the first full pay period from 1 July 2021. The PSA secured agreement from TfNSW that in circumstances such as these back pay would occur. Therefore, once the wage rise comes into force members will receive back pay to the first full pay period from 1 July.
