Welcome to the union ( new members from 25 January to 13 March 2016)

Letter to new members (PDF version)

Dear PSA member

I am writing to welcome you to the Public Service Association of NSW (PSA), and to thank you for joining this union.

The PSA, established in 1899, has a proud history and covers a diverse range of employees working under both State and Federal awards and agreements. Please find a structure chart of the PSA here.

It is an honour and privilege to be a public sector worker and a role in which we can all take pride.

For that reason, we need to be united and strategic in our approach to defending jobs and conditions while ensuring the people of New South Wales continue to receive the quality services you, our members, provide.

Our website (www.psa.asn.au) contains information on what is happening industrially in the public sector, your workplace and the activities of the PSA.

As a PSA member you are automatically entitled to the benefits of the Provident Fund. To nominate a beneficiary you will need to complete the PSA Provident Fund Nomination of Beneficiaries Form.

Information about our services, how we can be contacted and who to contact is also available on this website.

In addition, you will receive the PSA Journal, Red Tape, PSA News (email updates) and, where relevant, workplace bulletins.

The PSA strives to be an inclusive organisation, and as you become more familiar with its operation, you may care to nominate for or join one of its various governing and supporting bodies, including workplace groups.

Thank you again for your membership.

Yours in unity

ANNE GARDINER
PSA General Secretary
