Privatised NSW Home Care service has big problems say clients – The Herald

Clients in the privatised Home Care Service in the Hunter region are far from impressed with the level and quality of care post privatisation.

The Government washing its hands and walking away from some of society’s most vulnerable was the PSA’s concern regarding Home Care and remains a great concern for disability services.

PSA Housing concerns aired on TV

PSA Assistant General Secretary Troy Wright was on the mid North coast on 7 February and highlighted the PSA’s concerns about the sell off of Housing NSW on Prime TV.

Not only did the member for Coffs’ Andrew Fraser respond to our concerns but said “Why its happened [the sell off of Housing NSW] is we were the most efficient area in the state and therefore more attractive for community service providers to pick up the contracts.”

Couldn’t have scripted that better ourselves.

The mid north coast will bear the brunt of plans to slash almost 200 jobs and close offices of Housing NSW PSA Assistant General Secretary, Troy Wright told the Coffs Harbour Advocate.
