Recent Broad Updates
Following concerns raised by members about the lack of communication and support from Transport for employees placed into mobility, TfNSW has confirmed that an additional 19 mobility case workers will be added to support the process.
The Mobility Placement Program applies across the NSW Government sector, meaning employees may be considered for roles not only within Transport but across the broader NSW public sector. More information about the mobility program can be found HERE.
Your union representatives have also raised concerns regarding work health and safety, including the need for proper assessment of psychosocial hazards arising from the restructure process. As a result, specific meetings have now been established with Transport to address these issues and the wellbeing impacts on staff.
The PSA has also advocated for greater clarity around the Internal Gated Process and placement decisions.
As a result, Transport has now confirmed that employees can request a review of a placement decision where they believe the outcome was not consistent with the published process for filling roles, relevant legislation, or their employment contract. A request for review must generally be lodged within 7 days of the placement decision being communicated and must outline the decision being challenged, the grounds for review, and the outcome sought.
This review process applies to placement outcomes following determination, including roles filled through the internal gated process, invited EOIs, many-to-few processes, or placement pools.
You can find the form to submit a review by clicking HERE.
The PSA has also called out Transport to release the 2025 PMES results at Branch level to ensure transparency and allow staff to see the results within their work areas.
In addition, we are continuing to challenge Transport over fixed term/temp employees who have met the Award conditions for conversion but have not been made permanent status after 24 months. This issue is being actively pursued by us with Transport.
We are Stronger Together!
If you know of a colleague who is not yet a union member, forward them this email and encourage them to join us.
Only because of a strong and growing union membership have we come this far in negotiations at Transport.
It’s simple, the more members we have, the better outcomes we achieve.
