Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions: Cost of Living Allowance

Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions: Cost of Living Allowance

  30 July 2026

The Public Service Association of NSW (PSA) have received communication from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) Management saying that Government Shared Services have interpreted an expired Enterprise Agreement to mean that the Cost of Living Allowance (COLA) should not be paid to non-executive employees at the ODPP.

The correspondence from ODPP Management to the PSA makes clear the ODPP intended to pay non-executive employees the COLA as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) agreed to as part of the 2024 Salaries Case.

The PSA position is that Government Shared Services should take directions from the agency it services and it is incumbent upon the ODPP to direct Shared Services to pay the COLA as agreed.

Management has assured the PSA that they will communicate this to Shared Services (and PSIR) and seek a reversal of their decision and seek immediate payment of the COLA.

The PSA will take all necessary steps to ensure that our members at ODPP receive the COLA as intended.
