Our thoughts at the PSA CPSU NSW are with the independent MP for the federal seat of Indi, Helen Haines, and her staff.
In an era of coarsening political debate, we extend our solidarity to all workers in electorate offices and parliamentary chambers nationwide. Regardless of political affiliation, these workers are vital for a thriving democratic process. They deserve respect when carrying out their duties.
We urge all PSA members working in electoral offices and the NSW State Parliament to take precautions when at work. This is particularly important as NSW goes into an election campaign, when political tensions are on the increase.
As your union, we are here for you.
