Anti-Discrimination Board of NSW – Restructure update – June 2018 (PDF version)
All members should have received a copy of the ADB’s change management proposal, entitled ‘Anti-discrimination Board of NSW Operating Model Reform Plan.’ A copy can be found HERE.
The PSA understands ADB management has presented its proposal to members as a done deal. However, this is not the case. The PSA and ADB are in consultation over the proposed changes. Hence what the ADB has presented to members is not final. As such, members should be aware that all aspects of what has been proposed are subject to genuine consultation. Information on what constitutes genuine consultation can be found HERE. Members can send feedback and concerns about the ADB’s proposal to PSA staff.
JCC meeting
The PSA met with the ADB on 20 June 2018 at our regular Joint Consultative Committee. The ADB advised the CEO is looking to meet members in affected roles. Please contact your PSA staff if you would like support and advocacy during this process.
The ADB has not provided a proposed timetable for the implementation of the new structure. The PSA will be in contact with the ADB about this. In relation to the consultation period, the ADB specified that 6 July would be the end date. However, if there are unresolved issues, the PSA will seek further consultation.
Flexible working arrangements and EEO
The changes the ADB proposes may mean changes to flexible working arrangements, such as part-time arrangements. This may have implications in relation to the ADB’s equal employment opportunity and anti-discrimination obligations. Particularly, the PSA notes that a number of the affected roles are currently assigned to members who work part time. Defending the right to such arrangement is a key PSA priority.
Members’ meeting
To gather member feedback on the restructure a PSA members’ meeting will be held within the next two weeks. Members will receive notice shortly.
