After the hostage situation in Mid North Coast Correctional Centre the PSA/POVB wrote to Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) with a list of points and concerns we would like a response to.
The PSA/POVB requested a meeting within the first two weeks of February 2021 to address the concerns listed in the letter and the meeting has been scheduled for 11 February 2021.
CSNSW has the motion that was unanimously passed from all sub branches regarding worker’s compensation for the staff involved in the hostage situation who are currently off and this motion will be addressed at this meeting.
The PSA/POVB has been advised that CSNSW has sent a contingent of managers to Mid North Coast to assist in a review into the operations at the centre and to address the concerns members have raised.
These concerns have been listed in an issues register and we will assist delegates and members with getting a resolution to their concerns.
Members of the Executive are attending Mid North Coast Correctional Centre next week to follow up and assist.
