Minister for Planning and Public Spaces Rob Stokes recently announced a 50 Year Vision for Sydney’s open space and parklands.
The PSA attended a meeting on 16 July, where Acting Deputy Secretary of Place & Infrastructure Brett Whitworth and other members of senior management provided little detail other than the creation of Greater Sydney Parklands (GSP), which aims to bring together the Centennial, Callan and Fernhill parks.
During the meeting, the PSA was advised of an all-staff meeting scheduled for Friday 17 July. The PSA requested to be a part of this meeting and requested all the relevant change documentation. The PSA is disappointed it was not provided an invitation nor any of the documentation regarding the GSP.
The PSA with be holding a members’ meeting on Thursday, 23 July at 12:30pm, at the Centennial Parklands Vernon Pavilion to hear from members with concerns regarding the separation of Botanic Gardens and Centennial Parklands.
