Clarence Correctional Centre: CPSU NSW 2026 end-of-year wrap-up

Its been a big year for CPSU NSW members at Clarence Correctional Centre, with the finalisation of a three-year Enterprise Agreement resulting in a 12 per cent pay rise over three years for Correctional Case Officers (CCOs). The 6 per cent pay rise will be paid in March 2026 which is not that long away.

We have set up a new Delegate structure by creating the Clarence Correctional Centre Advisory Group. This group will be meeting regularly to discuss and raise issues for our members, we will have our first Annual General Meeting (AGM) in February and electing executive positions within this group.

We had our last bi-monthly Delegates Consultative Committee (DCC) meeting on the 4 December. You can view the minutes HERE. The highlight of this meeting are:

  • Trade Instructors will be able to complete Overtime as a Clarence Correctional Officer via a casual contract.
  • Timeframe for conduct investigations is lengthy and creates further stress on our members, an agreement has been made for CPSU NSW Industrial staff to be able to present to the centre to see any evidence early in the investigation so members are fully aware of the allegations.
  • CPSU NSW and Serco will set dates in late January to kick off the Clarence Correctional Supervisors Enterprise Agreement which expires on March 31, 2026. We ask all our members who are Supervisors to start talking to your Delegate Keri Parbery about what you would like to see in your new Enterprise Agreement. We are also looking for members that would be interested in being part of the bargaining team. You can view the Serco Clarence Correctional Supervisors Enterprise Agreement HERE.
  • Currently Serco has the ViewPoint Survey out to all staff. The CPSU NSW encourages all members to fill in this survey regarding their view on how the gaol is running and what needs to improve. The CPSU NSW will meet with your General Manager in the new year to discuss these results. This survey closes 20 December so get onto this quickly.

In 2026 Regional Organisers will sit in the lunchroom after our bimonthly DCC meeting and be available to speak to members. Alternatively, if you’d prefer us to set up a room where we can talk confidentiality, we can do this also. Any issues or ideas that you would like the CPSU NSW to look at in 2026 contact your Delegates or Regional Organisers.

We wish you all a safe time over the holiday period and look forward to representing you in 2026.
