Clarence Correctional Centre: Delegates’ Consultative Committee and roster review consultation

  26 October 2026

New Delegate

Clarence Correctional Centre Advisory Group has a new delegate, Jacinta Turner. CPSU NSW welcomes Jacinta to the role.

Consultation on roster review

The two week consultation period started on 19 October 2026 for the new roster. Members can provide feedback via the CPSU NSW or directly to Serco. Please provide any feedback to the CPSU NSW either via your delegates or Regional Organiser Rebecca Reilly by close of business 29 October 2026.

Delegates’ Consultative Committee

CPSU NSW delegates and industrial staff met with Serco management at the Delegates’ Consultative Committee meeting on 7 October 2026 to advocate on key workplace issues affecting members across the Centre. Below is a summary of the key discussions from the meeting:

Rostering

Members have raised concerns regarding uneven weekend rostering (such as working two consecutive weekends followed by three off). Management advised this issue will be addressed in the new roster design, and the General Manager will provide a document outlining the core rostering principles for CPSU consultation.

Role Review Project

Serco’s centre-wide role and demand-mapping project is ongoing, starting with a review of supervisor roles. Management confirmed that task demand mapping is complete and they are now awaiting the draft rosters.

  • Supervisor duties: The General Manager reiterated that supervisors are not required to complete Functional Manager (FM) jobs. If Supervisors are still being directed to complete FM tasks, please notify the General Manager directly.

Business Continuity Plan and short staffing

The CPSU NSW raised member’s concerns regarding workload priorities and task expectations when areas are short-staffed. Management is developing a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) alongside the role review to clearly define which non-critical tasks staff should stop performing based on staffing levels across the Centre.

Uniforms

The business case for new trouser procurement is currently with the General Manager for review and sign-off.
