Corrective Services Non-Custodial Administration and Stores Review – April 2016 (PDF version)

As you are aware, the Department has recently completed the Administration and Stores Review.

The Department has advised that a restructure will occur as a result.

In anticipation, the PSA and delegates held member meetings through the state to listen to the concerns and advice of members.

The information provided at these meetings was used by the PSA and delegates to compile a list of forty seven questions which were sent to the Department on 1 February, 2016.

After considerable prompting from the PSA and a two month delay, the Department provided a two page response on 5 April, 2016.

The response was totally inadequate and lacked respect for the consultative process.

In response, the PSA sought an urgent relisting in the Industrial Relations Committee, the matter will be heard on 2 May, 2016.

Deputy Commissioner Corcoran has requested a meeting with the PSA and delegates on Thursday 28 April, 2016 to discuss the restructure.

However, based on previous experiences, the PSA is not confident the meeting will resolve the concerns of members.

The PSA will send out a further update to members on the meeting and the IRC dispute next week.
