Department of Customer Service – Fair Trading (Tow Truck Services): Transition from RMS (Staff Wages) Award 2017 to Crown Employees (Public Sector Salaries 2017) Award
The PSA has received correspondence from the Department notifying it is about to commence consultation regarding the process of transitioning 13 employees across to the Crown Employees (Public Sector – Salaries 2017) Award.
This will affect those staff who were formerly employed by RMS and have been maintained on the RMS (Staff Wages) Award 2017 as part of the transition.
The Department will begin consultation on proposed Role Descriptions with a view to these roles transitioning across to the Crown Employees (Public Sector – Salaries 2017) Award.
Importantly it has stated the following:
- No employee’s salary will be reduced
- Adjustment to the salaries will be made to align to the comparable Clerk Grade within the Crown Employees Award
- In the majority of cases this will result in a minimal increase
- Two employees have been identified as requiring salary maintenance to allow the relevant Clerk Grade to reach the equivalent RMS salary.
The PSA understands a meeting with affected staff will be occurring on Thursday 4 July 2019.
The PSA will make further representations on members’ behalf once more information on the proposed role descriptions and transition arrangements is known.
