Department of Planning and Environment Departmental Committee update

On Tuesday 20 September your PSA delegates held their regular Departmental Committee (DC) meeting to discuss matters affecting the cluster and identify issues to take to the Joint Consultative Committee (JCC) on Tuesday 25 October. Below are a brief overview of what was covered in the DC and what we will be taking to the JCC.

Departmental Committee

  • Report back from PSA Women’s Conference
  • Update from PSA Central Council
  • Report back from last JCC
    • Concerns about reliance on contingent labour
    • NRAR restructure
    • Biodiversity Conservation Taskforce casual conversions to permanent
  • Industrial Officers update
    • Union win – casual conversions to permanent in LAHC
    • Corporate Services / Performance and Culture restructure
    • Biodiversity Conservation Taskforce compliance officers and Credit Supply Taskforce
    • BCD Compliance Regulation Changes
  • Meeting with the DPE – Young Professionals Network
  • WHS
    • Building maintenance: – mould and lack of essential repairs, a serious safety risk, identified in some regional offices; some offices have contacted owners but still no action.
    • Health and Safety Representatives – PSA to request HSR representation (or at least in offices where we have none or where we have no OHS committees), timing of HSR nominations and elections.

From discussion of those agenda items in the meeting the following matters will be raised at the JCC.

Joint Consultative Committee items
