Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development and Local Land Services Department Committee elections
Your union, your voice, your say
Members are advised that the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) and Local Land Services (LLS) Departmental Committee (DC) elections are due.
Departmental Committees are a critical part of strong union representation in the workplace. They ensure members’ voices are heard, protected, taken seriously and not sidelined or ignored.
Your current DC’s delegates have done an amazing job in representing you all on issues across the state. Delegates on the DPIRD DC had a particularly stressful year with the job cuts and 10 change plans dumped on us last year. The LLS DC are still fighting for improvements to your Award.
Why it matters
Departmental Committees help to:
- Advocate for safe and fair working condition
- Raise members’ concerns directly with management
- Strengthen collective bargaining power
- Ensure consultation is meaningful not tokenistic
- Build Union power with the recruitment of new members
What now?
Now it’s time to do your part. Nominate yourself or a colleague to help us to help you.
All members in DPIRD (who are not part of LLS or are Fisheries Officers) are eligible to nominate for the DPIRD DC.
All members in LLS can nominate for the LLS DC.
So look out for our nominations bulletin on Friday 6 February 2026.
What’s involved?
These committees will generally meet four times a year with PSA staff. Members are given special leave to attend, and expenses (travel/accommodation etc.) are covered by the PSA. Representatives from these committees (with PSA staff) will also meet with management at the Joint Consultative Committee meetings and at other times as required.
