The Department of Education has released updated advice for dealing with Year 12 students and the HSC in identified areas of the state.

The advice has severely reduced the time students are to be at school, halted the return in the eight LGAs experiencing high levels of COVID-19 cases and has confirmed that no change will occur in the arrangements for work of support staff.

“This is a win for common sense,” said Juliette Sizer, PSA Vice President and Chair of the Schools Departmental Committee.

Although there are more issues to clarify and, no doubt, more problems will arise over the coming weeks, today’s updated advice is a step in the right direction to ensure that the health and safety of students, staff and the whole community are protected.
