The GAAG, along with your PSA representatives, have held a number of state-wide member meetings, via Teams. These meetings were well received and will continue in the future. Please keep an eye out for the link to these meetings.

PSA wins In your last pay (31 August) you should have received your back pay for the 4 per cent pay increase (plus 0.5 per cent superannuation) that the PSA fought so tirelessly for. In addition, the remainder of the back pay for outstanding Laundry Allowance should have also been paid. If you are unsure of whether this has occurred, please log an enquiry with EDConnect for assistance. Should you be unhappy with the response from EDConnect, contact the PSA Member Support Centre on 1800 772 679.

Working alone risk assessment As the Spring School holidays are fast approaching, now is the time to review the working alone risk assessment. Drop your Principal an email asking them for some time to review the assessment and discuss the Hot Work means No Work pamphlet.

Working with chemicals Training and all appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) should be supplied for all work with chemicals, including fertilisers and weed killers. Please ensure you are reviewing the Safety Data Sheets and have access to all the required PPE, before commencing work with any chemicals.

Share Our Space Over the last few holidays, delegates received a number of calls regarding the Share Our Space program. If you have any concerns regarding this program, please report your concerns, via email, to your principals to be addressed in the first instance. If you are unhappy with the response from your Principal, contact the Member Support Centre for assistance.

Farm Assistant representation The GAAG is seeking expressions of interest for a Farm Assistant Delegate. The Farm Assistant Delegate will be a member of the GAAG, advising on issues to ensure Farm Assistants are getting the best representation in the workplace. Expressions of interest can be forwarded to the GAAG Chairperson ">Bill Martin by close of business 29 September 2023.
