Goulburn Correctional Centre: Industrial action

Goulburn- March 2021 (PDF version)

On Monday, 29 March 2021, Goulburn Correctional Centre staff met and agreed to return to work following industrial action on the weekend. As part of their agreement to return to work, the Goulburn POVB members submitted a new motion to Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW).

The motion demanded a meeting between a local delegation of members, the Assistant Commissioner and the Director to address safety concerns at the centre and around the state as well as address issues of ongoing bullying, harassment and intimidation by management at their centre.

The Assistant Commissioner agreed to this meeting, which was held at Goulburn Correctional Centre on Tuesday, 30 March 2021. The meeting was attended by Assistant Commissioner Corcoran, Director Harrison, Jason Charlton, Natalie Howes, Joshua Hamade and a delegation of local members.

The local members had an opportunity to raise all of the concerns that led to them taking industrial action. AC Corcoran guaranteed that their concerns would be addressed.

The POVB State Executive will continue to fight for the broader issues that were raised in the motion and from other members around the state.

The PSA/POVB have also learned that a large number of disciplinary letters are being issued to members who participated in the industrial action. If you receive one of those letters, please forward them on to Industrial Officers David McCauley at and David Bartle at .
