On 15 May 2026 the PSA was briefed in relation to compliance issues with the Crown Employees award for the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission (GWIC). These issues relate specifically to shift workers (stewards and veterinarians).
A review has occurred regarding:
- Current rostering practices
- Shift loadings
- Weekend and public holiday loadings
- Meal breaks
- Overtime entitlements
- Additional leave entitlements
GWIC has committed to rectifying these matters as part of the myWorkZone implementation.
A further action arising from the PSA’s initial meeting is for GWIC to undertake a comprehensive review of previous payments to ensure that no employees have been underpaid as a result of the past non-compliant practices.
GWIC will develop a plan to conduct this review following the myWorkZone implementation. Given the complexity and the need to examine individual work histories, GWIC anticipate this review may take several weeks to months to complete.
myWorkZone implementation staff briefing sessions
As part of GWIC’s transition to myWorkZone payroll shared services (scheduled to go live on 25 June 2026), GWIC is commencing a series of targeted learning sessions for frontline teams.
These sessions are designed to support staff in understanding the updated processes for recording working time and submitting claims via MyTimesheet, ensuring alignment with award entitlements, and promoting consistency and compliance across the workforce.
The sessions will be delivered via Microsoft Teams and will provide an opportunity for participants to ask questions and seek clarification on the new processes.
GWIC will conduct the following member briefing session:
