Have you done it yet? Time is running out to be part of the PSA’s LTT Conversion to Permanency Campaign

Conversion Campiagn - Dec 2020 (PDF version)

PLEASE PASS THIS BULLETIN ON TO ALL SAOs AND SLSOs AT YOUR SCHOOL

The PSA has been successful in extending the opportunity for Long-Term Temporary (LTT) employees to express interest in converting to permanent employment under the current arrangements until the end of this term.

The PSA has supported a large number of people to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). In many schools, this has resulted in long term temporary SAOs and SLSOs who meet the criteria being converted to permanency or part permanency by their Principals.

If you have been employed continuously for more than two years, you may be eligible for conversion and the PSA is here to support you.

But you need to be a member of the PSA to get the resources and support you will need to understand the criteria and submit an EOI.

The Department of Education, in consultation with the PSA, is developing new recruitment procedures to be implemented in 2021.

This extension means LTT employees have an opportunity to apply for permanency using the original EOI process outlined in the Determination until 26 January 2021 only.

How to express interest in conversion

First, you must join the PSA.

We have developed an easy-to-use PSA Conversion Guide for members seeking permanency which can be provided to members only.

To support your EOI, the PSA has also developed a simple template letter that you can provide to your Principal seeking conversion.

Only members can access the guide and template letter.

Anyone who wishes to submit an EOI to be converted to permanency before the cut off, will need to join the PSA to access these resources and advice.

JOIN the PSA today and find out more about the process of expressing interest in permanency.

Contact the PSA by emailing the Schools Team at or via our Member Support Centre on 1300 772 679.
