Submission for the removal of married women from being prohibited to be in employed in permanent public service positions is made
Submissions were made to the Public Service Board for the removal of barring married women from permanent public service positions. Although unsuccessful, the 1960s saw the PSA become highly active in women’s rights in the workplace. Equal pay, and permanency for married women were fought for all through the 1960s. Both rights were only granted after many years of union organising.
