ATTENTION ELECTED HSRs: The PSA has HSR training scheduled for February and March 2023, to be held at PSA House, 160 Clarence St, Sydney.
HSR 1 day Refresher
Date: Tuesday 28 February 2023
HSRs who have completed the initial 5 day training are entitled to a 1 day Refresher each year after the year they complete the 5 days.
The PCBU (employer) pays course costs, pays HSR as if they were on duty for the day they attend the training, and any other reasonable costs associated with attending. Course fee is $200.00 for the 1 day Refresher.
HSR 5 day initial training
Dates: 20 – 22 and 28, 29 March 2023
Elected HSRs are entitled to the SafeWork NSW initial HSR 5 day training, which gives them a good grounding in WHS legislation, including understanding of the HSR role and the PCBU (employer) obligations to HSRs.
Completion of the 5 day training also gives HSRs the additional powers to:
- Issue Provisional Improvement notices (PINs) and
- Direct Cease Unsafe Work.
The PCBU (employer) pays course costs, pays HSR as if they were on duty for the 5 days they attend the training, and any other reasonable costs associated with attending. Course fee is $800.00 for the full 5 days.
