Land & Property Information Stop Work meeting
Land & Property Information Stop Work meeting – June 2016 (PDF version)
Last Thursday, members at LPI Queen’s Square unanimously voted to hold a stop work meeting to highlight to the community the value of keeping LPI in public hands.
This stop work meeting was originally scheduled for Friday 10 June. After considering the fact that this date is the Friday before a long weekend your delegates, in consultation with PSA Industrial staff, have decided to hold the meeting on Thursday 9 June instead. This will ensure the maximum amount of staff can participate.
In addition to the stop work meeting, members voted unanimously to implement a ban on working overtime on weekdays.
Why did members vote to stop work?
Members strongly believe action is necessary to highlight the benefits LPI currently bring to the people of NSW, and how its privatisation will undermine various commercial stakeholders and serve to disadvantage the broader community – both financially and in terms of quality service provision.
Members do not believe LPI staff have been given the respect they deserve from the State Government, as they are well trained to deliver the service and do an excellent job for the people of NSW. In order to highlight to the community the value of keeping LPI in public hands, your union is directing all members to stop work.

What happens at the stop work meeting?
Members will listen to speakers before deciding on our next course of action. Members may decide at the stop work meeting to continue the strike for the rest of the day and march to Parliament House, or vote to return to work. Members will also discuss the current bans on overtime during weekdays, and vote to continue, amend, or remove these bans.
What about members not at Queen’s Square?
Members in other locations are invited to join the stop work meeting by gathering out the front of their workplace in solidarity, whether they are directly affected by the privatisation of Titling and Registry Services or not. Your local organiser will be in touch to confirm details.
What about media?
In order to ensure media have an angle to report on, the PSA needs stories from you, the members, about how the privatisation of LPI will negatively affect the community. Please send human interest stories to in order to advance the campaign to highlight to the community the value of keeping LPI in public hands.
Not a member?
Non-members need to join the PSA today so they can support their union colleagues in the campaign against this reckless decision. Non-members are advised union fees are fully tax deductable, and members receive a number of included benefits, including journey insurance, that non-members do not.
