Members Endorse “Start Work” Meeting
The PSA has held a number of member meetings over the previous two months regarding proposed changes to the Transport for NSW (TfNSW) “Workplace Presence” policy.
At the recent member meetings held over the last week, members have overwhelmingly endorsed taking action. The first action endorsed is to hold a number of start work meetings at different TfNSW sites. The PSA will be encouraging members to attend the office on these days. A common issue members have raised around the policy is that there simply isn’t enough office space to accommodate the changes. If there is plenty of space, then having staff in the office on these days should not be an issue.
TfNSW still considering feedback
The PSA met with TfNSW management on Tuesday 15 April to discuss the feedback received from members regarding the policy.
While these discussions were productive in terms of understanding the issues with the policy as it currently stands, TfNSW confirmed they are still considering as per the timeline distributed late February. This timeline states that feedback would be reviewed and considered over April and May. It is important that whilst TfNSW are still considering the feedback, and before any final decisions have been made, that PSA members “Make their Workplace Presence Felt”.
First start work meeting is scheduled for Thursday 1 May 2025
The first “start work” meeting will be held at the Elizabeth Street office in Sydney, at 9:00am on this Thursday 1 May 2025. Members will note that the 1 May is also May Day, a day we recognise workers rights.
Further meetings will be planned for other key “hubs”.
All members who can attend work at the Elizabeth Street office on Thursday 1 May are strongly encouraged to do so and make their workplace presence felt.
Do I need to book a desk?
The PSA recommends that members attempt to book a desk. You can log any issues you may have by filling out this short form HERE.
