Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the PSA
The PSA would like to wish Special Constable members a wonderful Christmas and New Year.
For those taking time off, have a restful break; and for those working over this period, thank you for keeping your sites safe.
This has been a challenging year but a successful year in putting Special Constables on the map (and in the media) with our ongoing campaign to have your roles properly respected and remunerated. The PSA would like to thank delegates and members for their contributions throughout 2019.
Members should be incredibly proud of the stand they have taken this year, from the threatened work bans in August to the highly successful stop work meetings in October. Special Constables at every site have made it clear they are sick of being treated as second-class citizens.
The PSA finished things off for 2019 by leafletting the front of PHQ yesterday to make sure all your colleagues in NSW Police know just how insulting and inadequate the pay rates and Role Descriptions are for Special Constables.
A copy of the flyer is available HERE. Members are encouraged to print off copies and circulate them around their sites.
A reminder that no industrial action can take place until after 6 March 2020, but make no mistake, the fight will continue in 2020 and as long as is necessary until Special Constables receive the pay and respect they deserve.
Here’s hoping we get Santa next year instead of the Grinch.
