National Corrections Day

Today is National Corrections Day, when we recognise the professionalism, dedication and sacrifice of Corrective Services staff across Australia.

Our members work in a difficult, dangerous, and challenging environment to keep the people of NSW safe. Often their efforts go unnoticed because it happens behind prison walls and out of sight of the general public.

Every day, our members go to work and face people the justice system says must be locked away to keep society safe; knowing that at any moment they could find themselves in a perilous situation, preventing an inmate from self-harming or providing emergency first aid to save a life. And the very next day, our member will once again report to duty to face the same risks.

We appreciate the service that Corrective Service Staff provide to the people of NSW.
