Budget Estimates is a key process for government accountability and transparency. The Budget Estimates inquiry involves detailed questioning on the decisions, actions and advice of Ministers and Public Servants, who attend the annual inquiry to answer questions about the expenditure, performance and effectiveness of their agencies.
The Budget Estimates inquiry is conducted by the Legislative Council’s seven Portfolio Committees, with the next schedule of hearing from Monday 28 February to Wednesday 16 March 2022.
The PSA will be putting forward questions to relevant stakeholders on behalf of Non-Custodial members in Corrective Services NSW. The PSA is seeking feedback from members with questions regarding spending, or the lack of spending, in particular areas of the Department. Areas members might have questions in relation to include Work, Health and Safety; bullying and harassment; training; and new programs. If you have particular issues you would like asked of relevant Ministers or senior Public Servants, you can forward these questions to your Industrial Staff listed below by Friday 18 February 2022.
