General Scale & Grade 1/2 position holders

The NSW Trustee and Guardian (NSWTAG) Advisory Group met yesterday, 11 November 2015, at PSA House. The meeting was dedicated to preparing the PSA’s response to the HR Transition Plan which is part of the recently announced NSWTAG Business Case – Beyond 2017.

The meeting identified a number of issues in the HR Transition Plan which require further consultation between the PSA and NSWTAG. This will be communicated to NSWTAG as soon as possible.

Yesterday’s meeting also included discussion on the HR Transition Plan proposal to delete most of the General Scale (GS) and Grade 1/2 positions from the NSWTAG establishment.

Outcomes

The PSA recognises the valuable and irreplaceable role of its members in GS and Grade 1/2 positions within the NSWTAG establishment and expects NSWTAG to acknowledge this also.

The PSA’s position is very clear in its commitment to ensure that NSWTAG makes every endeavour to provide its members in these positions with the opportunity and assistance to secure an ongoing role in the public sector. This assistance should include the availability of retraining and the opportunity to be recognised for work undertaken at a higher grade.

What can you do now?

It is timely to remind members that the Industrial Relations Commission has stated emphatically that no positions should be lost across all of NSWTAG prior to the completion of the Pilot. This is not negotiable.
