NSW Trustee and Guardian: Meeting regarding proposed restructure of Public Guardian Division

The Public Service Association (PSA) has been contacted by NSW Trustee and Guardian (NSWTG) in relation to the proposed restructure of the Public Guardian Division. At the end of last week, the union received a change management plan pursuant to NSWTG’s duty to consult regarding major change. Please find relevant documentation HERE and HERE.

NSWTG has stated to the PSA that the intention of the proposed model is to:

  • Improve workload equity and rebalance agreed caseloads per guardian
  • Enhance supervision, practice and governance structures
  • Strengthen partnerships and streamline client pathways
  • Increase flexibility and resilience across teams
  • Improve identification of risks and strengthen escalation pathways
  • Use technology better to assist with workflows and workload
  • Value and leverage guardian expertise across the organisation
  • Streamline common client work with Estate Management.

The PSA notes that there are additional four full-time equivalent roles to be added under the proposed structure.

Members are welcome to provide feedback to the union regarding the changes proposed as part of consultation. Members can also seek support on an individual basis via the Member Support Centre.

An online member meeting will be held to discuss the proposals.
