Pillar bulletin – enterprise bargaining update and survey – 18 September 2015
Pillar bulletin and survey – EBA – 18 September 2015 (PDF version)
At a meeting of members on 14 September, the PSA resolved to come back to members with a response to the letter sent to Pillar on 11 September and outcome of the bargaining meeting on 16 September.
Pillar informed us in writing and at the meeting they would not be going back to the Government again to clarify why the agreement to 3.5 percent per annum for a three-year period was declined. They stated their readiness to put the agreement out to vote.
After further discussion with your bargaining team and union, Pillar did go back to the Government and informed us on 18 September that the Government had again said no to your demands. Pillar also informed us they were intending to announce that the agreement would be put out to a vote.
At your members’ meeting, the following two motions were passed, depending on what Pillar came back with from our previous correspondence:
Motion 1
That the union makes application to the Fair Work Commission for a Protection Action Ballot Order.
Motion 2
That the union makes application to the Fair Work Commission for bargaining orders.
Your delegates and bargaining team have requested that we survey members regarding whether they would be voting yes or no if the Agreement goes out to a vote. Depending on the response, we will then know whether to action the motions passed at the meeting last Monday around seeking good faith bargaining orders and taking protected industrial action.
