PSA Annual Conference

The POVB Executive, along with many POVB delegates, attended the PSA Annual Conference last week.

The event was a huge success and feedback from the delegates was positive. The event assisted them in gaining information about other agencies and the problems they face.

The PSA issued many awards to POVB delegates; it was a proud moment for us to see delegates finally get recognition for the hard work that they have put in over the years.

The POVB website is up and running. Please look at it and register, as communication will be going through that site. We are also looking for feedback from members.

John Morony

As you would all be aware, it was announced John Morony will remain in public hands if an agreement can be reached.

We wish to make it clear that we have not agreed to anything. We met with the Department on 29 May 2017 and received limited information.

Once we have the information in regards to issues such as staffing structure, daily routine, and inmate numbers and classification, we will be speaking to the delegates at the site.

We also have our Management Committee Meeting (delegates into PSA) this week and John Morony will be heavily discussed.
