Prison Bed Capacity Adjustment Program update – Non Custodial

Prison Bed Capacity Adjustment Program Update - Oct 2020 (PDF version)

Earlier this week, members should have received an All Staff Update outlining progress with the Prison Bed Capacity Adjustment Program (PBCAP). This included:

  • Placement letters being issued to affected Non-Custodial staff from now and over the coming weeks
  • The status and planned implementation at each Correctional Centre
  • The commencement of commissioning activities at Dillwynia for early November
  • Emu Plains transitioning to the new operating model on 9 November 2020.

At the local level for most centres, the consultation and endorsement process is ongoing with the majority of centres expected to have proposals submitted before the end of the year.

Furthermore, Non Custodial Delegate Committee (NCDC) delegates and the PSA are undertaking a series of meetings with Corrective Services NSW to discuss issues particular to each discipline. If you have feedback you would like raised collectively with regards to your discipline, please forward through to your NCDC delegates.

The PSA, along with the NCDC, POVB, COVB and SEAG sub-branches, continues to be involved in state-wide PBCAP meetings every fortnight with CSNSW.

Any member requiring individual assistance with their circumstances through PBCAP changes, such as relocations and placements, should contact the Member Support Centre on 1300 772 679.
