Proposed changes to role descriptions

Proposed changes to Role Descriptions - Jan 2020 (PDF version)

The Commissioner of Victims Rights has advised the PSA of proposed changes to role descriptions. The draft role descriptions can be found HERE.

The PSA understands Victims Services intends to transition to a rotating roster of Specialist Victims Support Service staff to provide the on-call response. The roster will be staffed by 6 x 7/8 ‘Specialist Victims Client Officers’, 2 x 9/10 ‘Coordinator Specialist Victims Support Service’ and 1 11/12 ‘Senior Manager Specialist Reforms’.

This will be remunerated at the on-call allowance rate as per the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Reviewed Award 2009, currently $1.00 per hour. In the event staff are required to respond to a call, this will be remunerated in accordance with time worked (at ordinary time at increments of 15 minutes).

In addition, as the work of the SVSS team has recently included providing case management to minors, the SVSS staff role descriptions also require amendment to include a requirement to have a current working with children check.

The PSA calls for member feedback as part of consultation in relation to the proposed changes.
