Twelve month rosters

The PSA has been made aware that in some areas twelve monthly rosters have been implemented.

Please be advised that this is in contravention of the Crown Employees NPWS Award 2015 which clearly states:

Section 14. Hours of work:

14.1.9 a roster of hours and days must be set and agreed to in writing 2 weeks before the settlement period starts.

The ‘settlement period’ refers to a period of only 4 weeks. There is no reference in the award for the establishment of 12 monthly rosters. Hence, we direct members not to engage in or provided any information for the development of 12 month rosters.

Overpayments of salary

Further issues have arisen with significant overpayments of salary. If this has happened to you please be advised such overpayments can only be recouped by agreement between the parties and a payment plan be established.

Conservation and Heritage Regulator (CHR)

The Association understands that Monday 19 January is scheduled as the start for the new CHR section of DCCEEW.

It is believed that there will be major changes in how and who responds to the full range of wildlife matters without any consultation with our members or the PSA.

Further to this the PSA understands that there has been little or no communication as to the change to NPWS staff currently responding to such matters, to external stakeholders or to the broader community.

This being the case, the PSA is considering our industrial options in resolving this mater.
