PSA KEEP OUR ICONS ALIVE RALLY

PSA KEEP OUR ICONS ALIVE RALLY - June 2021 (pdf version)

A reminder the Keep Our Icons Alive rally will be held in Martin Place (next to Macquarie Street here) on Monday 21st June 2021, 12:00 – 1:00pm.

Why are we rallying in Martin Place?

It is reported the NSW Government is considering multi-million-dollar funding cuts to NSW Cultural Institutions. This was first outlined in budget forecasts by the Arts Minister in answer to Opposition questions in Budget Estimates.

We need you to attend this rally to show your support for funded, permanent and safe jobs at NSW Cultural Institutions.

Why is it important you attend?

PSA members joining in will show there is strong community support for NSW Cultural Institutions.

This rally is not industrial action. To attend, take a long lunch break, or flex leave, or annual leave.

The campaign also seeks to ensure NSW Cultural Institutions jobs are funded, permanent and safe. That is:

  • Funded, by campaigning to increase funding to NSW Cultural Institutions.
  • Permanent, by campaigning to increase permanent roles at NSW Cultural Institutions.
  • Safe, by electing Health and Safety Representatives at every Cultural Institution, increasing focus on psychological and physical work health and safety.

PSA members know the importance of this Keep Our Icons Alive Rally. If you attend this rally, you can make a difference in ensuring the NSW Cultural Institutions jobs are funded, permanent and safe.
