PSA members have met and endorsed Immediate Industrial Action in the form of a STRIKE from 12:30pm – 5:00pm.
As such the PSA is directing that members Stop Work from 12:30pm – 5:00pm. Arrangements should be made to ensure critical incidents are still responded to.
There can be no more delays and action is needed now!
Today is the start of ‘Child Protection Week’, it’s time for the Government to show that the work being done to support the children and families is valued.
The PSA is demanding the Government immediately:
- Recruit another 500 caseworkers
- Give caseworkers an immediate and substantial pay rise
- De-privatise foster care
The PSA has notified the Department of Communities and Justice of the stop work order and will work with Community Services to ensure all urgent response arrangements are maintained.
Only members of the PSA can participate in the above Action. Clause 64 of the Crown Employees (Public Service Conditions of Employment) Award 2009 states that “There will be no victimisation of staff members prior to, during or following industrial action”.
