The PSA is supporting members in Education Support Staff (ESS) divisions who face proposed organisational changes, the magnitude of which we have not seen for several years.

We understand that organisational change brings uncertainty and anxiety, and that access to clear information and provision of adequate time to process that information is critical.

To ensure genuine consultation, the PSA requested that the initial consultation period be extended (for staff and the PSA) to provide feedback on the initial proposal(s) in School Infrastructure NSW (SINSW), Comms & Engagement and People Group restructures.

The Department has agreed to extend the date for feedback on SINSW, Comms & Engagement and People Group restructure proposals to a closing date of 14 November 2024.

Noting, that the Shared Services restructure commenced earlier than these divisions and the consultation period for that restructure will maintain its closing date of 7 November 2024.   

Members can be assured that the PSA will continue to advocate for the interests and wellbeing of members and will ensure that genuine consultation over matters of concern to our members, is maintained throughout every stage of the organisational change processes.

Genuine consultation means that all feedback (from staff and the PSA) must be considered and has the potential to influence the final organisational change plan(s).

We strongly recommend that affected members engage in all meetings and information sessions and provide detailed feedback to the Department on the proposals that affect your areas and through to the PSA Member Support Centre so we can capture and consolidate your feedback.

The PSA has scheduled further member meetings to hear your feedback and to identify any information gaps, which we will communicate to the department.  We thank members who have already provided feedback which informs the PSA response to the proposals.
