General Assistant and Farm Assistant Conferences
After a six year hiatus the GA Advisory Group successfully negotiated the return of GA Conferences. The Department backed the return of the conferences by ecouraging all Principals and Directors Educational Leadership (DELs) to do everything possible to ensure GAs and FAs at their school attended.
The conferences were held in four locations with attendance numbers as follows:
Penrith 220
Dubbo 48
Wollongong 94
Newcastle 95
The Advisory Group also negotiated a 10-minute speaking slot for the General Secretary Stewart Little immediately after the Department of Education Secretary at the Penrith conference.
A short video presentation by Stewart Little was presented at the other three conferences.
The Advisory Group received acknowledgement at the Conference from both the Secretary and other senior Department staff along with praise from General Secretary Stewart Little.
The PSA and the Department working group also received praise for their successful work in designing and co-ordinating the four conferences.
