PSA Seeks Further Interim Wage Increase for Psychologists
The PSA has written to the Public Sector Industrial Relations (PSIR) seeking a further interim increase of 4% for psychologists covered under the Psychologists Award, to apply from 1 July 2025 to 30 June 2026.
This request is based on the fact that psychologists received only a 3% increase for the period of 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025, in exchange for being excluded from the “no extra claims” clause, while the majority of employees covered by the Crown Employees (Public Sector – Salaries 2022) Award received 4% as of 1 July 2024 and will receive 3% as of 1 July 2025. This exclusion was necessary to allow the PSA to pursue a more substantive wage increase and other improvements to the Psychologists Award.
The request for a further interim increase is sought to ensure that the salaries of psychologist do not fall further behind whilst negotiations on the substantive changes to the Psychologist Award continue to progress.
A response to this request has been sought by 15 April 2025. The PSA will continue to keep members informed.
